oil leaking from vent hole in fuel pump

Postby koollrayy » Thu Nov 19, 2009 8:00 am

I have a GoldWing 1100 1981. Oil keeps leaking from the fuel pump. There also seems to be some kind of back pressure there too. is this back pressure normal. what is making oil leak from that hole in the fuel pump? koollrayy@yahoo.com

There shouldn't be oil there. If you've got oil coming from the weep hole, then the oil seal on the cam that drives the pump is leaking. Take the pump off and see if you can see oil leaking past the seal.

Check the crankcase vent tube. When I accidently pinched mine shut, crankcase pressure pushed oil out the fuel pump hole.
As soon as I uncrimped it, the leak stopped. Let me know if vent is clear. Jack W.
