1982 Honda Goldwing Aspencade

I am new to the Goldwing family, and am simply in love with the one I recently purchased. So anyone out there with knowledge of this model would be of great help. I have a question about tire and rim size, the info on the web that I can find says that the frt tier is 120/90/19 rr is 130/90/17 only mine has 110/90/18 and the rear is 130/90/16, does this make a big difference in ride or stability or does it really matter? What difference would the difference make and why would somebody change size ?Also when I bought it all of the chrome was in a box so I have been trying to re-install everything, the only thing is I can not find any on how to istall the right side chrome engine cover, any help out there? Gosh I wonder where I`ve been all these years riding everything but a Goldwing, retired now so I`am on fixed income which requires me to do as much of my own repair work as safety permits as a lot of you already know. Thanks Sincerely Jim :)

If you do have a 82 Aspencade then the proper tires for it are 120-90-18 front and 140-90-16 rear. The 80-81 model year had the 17 rear and 19 front. Check the load rating of the tires and the date they were manufactured( should be "branded" into the sidewall), 4 digits, first two week last two year. Example "3410" would be the 34th week of 2010.

You can download a copy of the manual for your bike here at http://myweb.midco.net/gl1100singlecarb ... anual.html

they have owners, service and parts manuals for 1000,1100,and 1200's . Hope this helps you.
