Need help with lightbar

Postby RexAubrey » Sat Oct 15, 2011 2:12 am

Hey Everyone,

I just bought and received this light-bar/bumper from e-bay and need help with how to install it.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180732437757?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I have an 83 GL1100I and it has the standard non-lighted bumpers upper and lower installed now. Do i use the currently installed bumpers to mount the light-bar to or do i remove them? Does anyone have instructions for how to mount this light-bar?

Thanks,
Rex

I'm sorry but I don't have any instructions for you, I fastened mine to the rails and drilled in some pilot holes and used some self tapping screws... You may have screw holes already in the bumper, well, highly likely, it's best to clamp it in place with some welder's clamps and use leather or plastic or wood so you don't mark up the chrome bumper with the clamps..I would fit and drill everything first and fasten it 100%, then remove it and wire that baby...Good luck... Drill that pilot hole the same size as the self tapping tip..Stainless steel screws is what i used...Or take the next guy's advise... :D
