1982 GL1100 Interstate

Postby moffat » Tue Oct 18, 2011 3:15 pm

My GL1100 was registered in the USA in 1982? It has a radio and speakers fitted to the front centre of the fairing and the 1982 models in the manual have the radio in the left hand side of the faring. The frame number is 1HFSCO212CA224994 and engine number is SCO2E2010515.
I have changed the speedomenter to a 0-150 MPH one instead of the 0-85 MPH one that was on it
Can anyone tell me any history please??

There were aftermarket kits that allowed you to install an automotive-style radio in the center of the fairing like you describe. That's most likely what you have.

Thanks Admin, but is my bike a 1982 or earlier. or were there options when new to have a factory fitted audio system as mine does not have the audio system installed as per the manual and seems to be retro fitted as you say.
Thanks David
