Mufflers for 1100

Post by dawgout81 » Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:29 pm

Looking to put new mufflers on an 81 Interstate. It currently has some 21 inch turned down pipes which are giving up to the rust and rot ghosts.

Has anyone tried fishtails?

Is one type of harley muffler a better crossover?

Looking for any suggestions.

Ive got some Sportster mufflers on my 82 naked they fit right up to the stock headers and line up with the stock mounting bracket . They cost me 25 bucks off of Ebay they sound real nice don't get the ones with the cross over pipe . And i have a set of touring mufflers that im going to put on my dressed wing. Ive had to make some mounting brackets for them and will have to make a tube from the header to the muffler but its way cheaper than buying OEM or aftermarket
