Well , my Windshield panel is going to have to be painted, I didn't do much with it the last time I painted the bike but this time around I looked it over and man, it has lot's of deep scratch's and it just looks bad, so I'm sanding it down and will probably paint it the same accent grey I'm using for everything else or maybe I'll try that chrome paint I saw the other day.., I wanted new chrome but can't find new chrome anywhere, JC Witney no longer sells the windshield panel for the 1100, only the 1200 and up..Man..Ah fudge, Popcorn, as my grandma would say when she wanted to curse.... So I guess my pull behind trailer will need repainting too.. If anyone has a good clean next to perfect panel please let me know...

My finger are really smooth from all the sanding, it's weird, I don't thing I have any finger print's left.. My wife and I were going to make it look like the space shuddle but I am going to come up with something really neat, it will involve Red, Yellow,White and Black...and my grey accents a gold..

Hey guess what...? I'm feeling a little more professional tonight ha ha :D ...One of the reason's we rented this house was for the garage space, well I was laying down a few of the moving blankets we got from uhaul to paint the first half of the bike, Anyway, what I did was I parked the bike sideways in front of the door and I put up my easyup, I have those side cover's to close it in, I laid down 6 blankets and put a light in there, I have my respirator and put my table in there, I can even hang parts from the frame..Cool, a painter wantabee, the wife has no idea I did this so she may get a surprise if she does laundry in the AM  yes, we park the vehicles out front  ....really painting is not as easy as people think...It's fun when everything goes right, I'm taking my sweet time one piece at a time...Not bad for a armchair painter, I know some professional painter's and I'm still embarrassed to show them my work because I know they can do so much better with their air gun's, I'm using a spray can..I gotta say I'm looking at one of the lowers and it's a mitebit shiney.. :D

Why Thank you so much Fysty-1, wow, hanging parts to paint is the way to go ...so much easier than on a table, Fysty I'm so sorry you can't work on your bike and such where you live, that would make me go nut's, anyway yeh so it's 57 degree's out not a good temperature to be painting, so what do I do :geek:  , I put a small space heater in there on a steel chair and when I go in it's nice and warm and the parts are warm, I turn off the heater and remove from the easyup, go in and spray a coat then leave for awhile, come back in 15 minutes open the zipper up let out all the fumes zip it closed and fire up my heater again.. I don't know but I'm not taking any chances with fumes and the heater, might blow my ass up again  [ I blew my ass up once when I was like 4 yrs old, well I got shocked trying to fix a record player so I could listen to Elivis, yep smoke, sparks blackface, but I fixed it.. ] ...I have the garage door opened about 6"...Should have seen me working on my electrical system :o :o , blew my ass up a couple of times then...Nooo just kidding   I love you Fysty-1...thank's for being so nice and all...and such....I have seen a few Canadian movies on showtime, you guy's are funny up there...My friend RoadRogue is from Canada too that guy's a card..Good guy, lot's of good guy's up there... :D Oh and if any of you guy's have electrical issue's Wingadmin and Virgilmobile really know their stuff and that a fact..I was truly at my wits end when they both stepped up and helped me, now I'm like this :D :D

Thanks LB. Yeh the "double R just lives down the road from me. In reality he's about 4-5 hours (I think) from me. I live in the extreme SW of Canada Just minutes from Blaine Wash. I have a 12x14 gazzeboo that I was using (on the sly) as a shop but the winter of 10/11, I lost the roof to a sudden heavy snowfall. The company that makes it wants a hun & 1/2 to replace the rafters that are only 1/2"x 1" so I decided that I would build a wood shed type roof but money has gotten in my way, as has my health. You are on another forum are you not? I have been away from here for about a year as explained earlier but it seems to me that I know you from elsewhere. As for your heater, you might want to invest in one of those oil filled heaters. We have two to suppliment the propane furnace in our trailer and we love them. http://www.rona.ca/shop/~7-fin-radiator ... oning_shop (sorry for the long url. don't know how to shorten) These are great& they are available anywhere that Home producks are found eg Home Depot & Walmart. Take care my fiend Angela :D :D :D

I have the front fender primed, the tank is primed and the two lid's are primed, the rear fender is sanded and ready for primer...It's going, I really need a new chrome windshield panel and if I have to I will get the one from Saber Cycle for $120.00  plus shipping  , just so the front end looks like I want it to.. Doe's anyone know where I can find one of these panel's in really good shape...It's gonna look just like the grey one but white and grey...The same scheme..

Hi L.B., your paint job is looking good! I really like the color combination.
I have a chrome windshield trim piece that I took off my 83 Interstate that's in very nice shape.

One small issue... engraved above where the Honda emblem goes is the following heartwarming poem:

"THE TWO THINGS IN LIFE THAT I REALLY LOVE ARE WOMEN & BIKES OF THAT
I'M SURE OF, SO WHEN I DIE PLEASE TAN MY HIDE, TOOL ME INTO A SEAT
SO FINE, GIVE ME TO A WOMAN THAT LIKES TO RIDE, SO IN THE HEREAFTER
I MAY REST BETWEEN THE TWO THINGS THAT I LOVE THE BEST"

It's not really that visible until you get up close to it (I didn't notice it was there until the day after I bought the bike  ) and you MAY be able to buff/polish it out, I don't know...

Also it has a metal eagle where the Honda emblem goes, stuck on with double sided tape...

Anyway if you want it you can have it for the cost of shipping. here's some pics:

Will someone please tell me what BYT stands for?  It was supposed to be BTW... doop bedoop, I alway's have a time with these small panels on the false tank, when I got this bike that smaller panel with the lock in it was like a rough road, it's steel and it took some time years ago, I had to straighten and bondo to make it worthy of using, exceptable, smooth no marks or scratches, you can see every little mark on these two panels, I call them the panels from hell. See when you put some primer down you think you have it all sanded smooth but many times that's just not the case, once you apply the paint, the holidays jump out at you like a sore thumb, every little mark jumps out at you,, :o, so then you gotta do it again and sand it again ect. this would drive someone not patient off the deep end.. those of you that have done this know what I'm talking about...Oh sure you can just say screw it and go on, but you know it's there and you know you should have could have fixed it so you may as well do it right and spend some extra time getting it right...I'm not a perfectionist but I do want it to look good.. :D

Don't rush the clear coat, make sure the base is good and dry or it'll crinkle up on you.

Oh my camera really is terrible, these piece's are really highly glossy and nice...Take my word for it...I'm my worst critic. :D And it takes a lot to please me..I'm thrilled.. :D It's gonna look cool...I have sanded the two box lids and the two boxes[saddlebags boxes] and I'm going to prime them later tonight, it's funny I look at these naked bikes and there are only five piece's to paint, Wow  ...
