'82 GL1100I Turn Signal Beeper / Buzzer Location

Postby Rick_MD » Wed Jan 25, 2012 7:55 pm

Can anyone tell me exactly where it is located and mounted on the bike? I have the fake tank shell and seat off of the bike, but the fairing is still on. I cannot seem to find it anywhere nor any loose plugs that might indicate where it should be.

Thanks,
Rick_MD

Rich I happen to have my false tank cover off right now so I took a look, the buzzer comes from some wires up in the nest of wires from the left front side, look for a little cylinder cap looking thing that looks like a small speaker, should be by the frame around where the faring plug is...good luck..Well at least that's where mine is... :D

up front left side..cylinder, shiny, top has perforated screen on it. I think if you turn the bike on and and push the blinker button it will beep at you..

Thanks guys,

I believe mine has been removed. Normally I would turn on and listen for it, just like finding a flasher. Only problem is, when it ain't working, it's a little hard to find 'em.

Rick, I guess there is no noise at all when the turn signal is activated, that's a question ? If you hear a click click click sound it's hidden up under the faring I bet, mine only buzzes loud when I'm trucking down the road, but when I'm stopped or going slow it only clicks...You may very well be correct and probably are, someone may have removed that sucker...

I have the false tank removed, so I actually can hear the actual flasher clicking, but no noise from the beeper / buzzer. I would like to have it working cause sometimes the auto cancel doesn't. Don't need any of them 4 wheelers sharing space with me just cause I'm unintentionally blinkin' down the road. Lol.

Anyone have one laying around they don't need or want?

Learn sumpin new everyday! I didn't even know that these bikes had a "beeper". Mine just "clicks" just the same as in my Van and on the road I don't even hear it. I guess that I am a little more anal than most because despite all & any faults I may have, I have never left my signal flashing after a turn or lane change. I guess growing up using aftermarket blinkers & same for transports, you get to shutting them down right away by habit. My flashers are right alongside the right hand side of the frame @ the fork bearing area.(below the 3tree).
