clymer electrical schematics

Postby Bray20 » Mon Mar 26, 2012 11:41 pm

I have a clymer manual and am having a problem reading the schematics. On the schematics, some of the wires end with, to and a letter, such as to B. I can't tell where they are saying the wire goes. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a clymer service manual for the 1200.
Which diagrams are you having a problem with?

It may be wires that end with a letter are continued on another page, like this...

I have a 1985 Ltd and I am looking at the lighting schematics on page 422. If you look at the light illustrations you will see what I am talking about. I don't see, and I have looked, that it is referring to another page, but I could be overlooking something. I have worked with quite a few prints and usually the number or letter at the end of a wire refers to another page or line. I can't figure this one out. I will try to post a picture as soon as I can.

Either the schematic or what your looking for.The schematic I see shows each wire in it's color coding, while another prints the code,eg.b/r.
Where are you having problems on the bike?

I downloaded the manual.Whew,it's hard to follow, but here's what I found. This may help...The letter reference may appear on other pages as well. This is a pix of two pages.
It does appear that the "to B " refers to a plug,not a wire,as several color wires also " to B "

I just pulled the Clymer manual for the GL1200 and the schematic for the 1985 Limited starts on page 402 and continues onto page 407.
Do you have a different printing mine is from 2004.

I figured out the schematics. The problem I'm having is a voltage leak. I have traced the leak to the red wire from the starter relay to the 7.5 amp fuse going to the lcd meter and the radio/h/trunk light switch. Ran out of time today, will tackle it again tomorrow. If anyone has had this problem I would appreciate any advice. Thanks
