1986 Gl1200SEi Flywheel lock nut

Postby airpane » Wed Apr 18, 2012 5:58 am

HI all , I need help finding a source for the 22 mm lock nut that holds the flywheel on the shaft for the stator. I bought a 1986 goldwing and it had a rattling soud and vibration at idle and it would get worse as rpm increased. I pulled the motor and removed the back case cover and found that the 22mm lock nut on the fly wheel had backed off and had been riddin on the end of the shaft by the bolt in the end. This has worn all the threads out of the 22mm lock nut. The guy I bought it from said it had been making that noise since 2010. He only rode it a little bit in 2011 and none in 2012. Honda and cheap cycle parts and bike bandit indicate that this nut is not avalable any longer.

Type the part number in your browser and do a search ( 90202-KG4-000 ). Then check with the dealers listed. Some may still have one in stock. Others put that the nut is no longer made by the manufacture.
Here's one. http://www.ronayers.com/ProductDetails/ ... KU/1047520
If that doesn't work call some of the salvage dealers. When you check e-bay I see the the flywheel listed. Contact the seller and see if he will sell the Lock Nut. Can't believe no one has a 22mm nut in their MC's or cars.
Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.

O.K. thanks I got one on the way from sybercycles. They had a bolt and nut lot on ebay from a 1986 SEi part out. I did not want the whole lot so I called them and they sold me just the nut I needed with free shipping for 10.00. Shipping for the whole lot would have been more than the price of the parts.

Just curious, does anyone know what the thread pitch is for the locknut?
