It is high. Correct idle speed for the GL1200 is 950 rpm.

Much appreciated. Could the carbs being gunked up be my problem? WHen comming to a stop, it sometimes takes like5 seconds for the idle to finally drop drop down to around 1250. It also wasnt to miss a little bit when you bump the throttle when its not warmed up to about 3 bars on the gauge. NORMAL?

Thanks for the info. I wonder if the idle is set a bit high because of all of the lights on this thing?

You need to sync your carbs. Slow return is a common symptom of the carbs being out of sync.

The wing will cough when warming up especially if the choke is taken off a little early. That is normal till warm. I have the idle on my 86 set around 1050. But some times drops to 950 after long highway runs. Yes with all those lights the previous owner may have had the idle a little high. But a high idle will effect decelaration.

Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.
