my 1986 apencade Radio shows its working but no sound

I've cleaned the contacts where it plugs in, removed the speakers and tested them they work, is there a fuse for the speakers?
What else should I look at? All new suggestion would be appreciated. :D

Do you have an auto volume control box on left side of lower fairing? Also, there is a button on radio for intercom/speakers. Make sure it's set to speakers.

There is a auto volume control knob and next to it is tone control knob.

That's the one I'm talking about. I would check the button on your radio for intercom first. That button sends the sound to the headphones. Make sure the radio shows the intercom off. If still no sound, remove the glove box above the auto vol box and trace the 8 pin cables hooked to it. Disconnect them and reconnect the cables coming from the radio together. This will take the auto vol out of the circuit. Then see if the speakers work. I did this to mine because the auto vol control went bad. Let me know if it works.
