Slide Diaphram

Postby Poohman » Mon May 14, 2012 5:28 pm

I need to buy the slide diaphrams for the carbs. The Bike shop said they are $133 and I looked on line and found them at Saber Motorcycle website for $60. Does anyone else know a place to get them or can I just by the rubber cups for the slider?

Hello Poohman,
Glad to see your working on your Wing take your time.
You can get rubber part from here and you get a set of 4 for the price of one: http://www.randakks.com/Carb%20Parts.htm#11B

You'd be best off not buying anything from Saber Cycle - particularly their carb parts, which are known to be of extremely poor quality. Have a look through the comments on their vendor record to see why.

Would there be a picture or diagram on the best way to put these diaphrams on or is it pretty simple. I seen at the bottom of the pictures of the Rubber Diaphrams that there was a bottle of Green Adhesive. Do I need this or can I use High Temp Silicone (RTV)?

For best results I'd use the adhesive he suggests another product may not work and only lead to problems. Watch the slide orientation and the tiny tab location when reassembling.

Ok I have just purchased the Rubber Diaphrams for my Golwing. Now does anyone have some set by step instructions on how to replace them? I have taken one Slide diaphram off to look at it and there looks like there is a ring at the top base of the old diaphram how do I take this off and do I reuse it or get a new one or what? Thanks for all the help. If any Pictures to do this would be great also.
