electronic travel computer

Postby jgrant86sei » Thu May 17, 2012 5:49 am

I just purchased a 1986 gl 1200 sei and the display on the electronic travel computer doesnt show anything. The bulbs for the buttons light up but no display info shows. Is there a fix for that or do i have to get another one.

I quick downloaded the schematic and I find the red wire that feeds the computer is fused .It's a 7 amp somewhere. Its a starting point.look for 12 volts there with the key on

I just checked to see if it is getting power and it is not. If anyone knows where the fuse is located please let me know where to start to look.

It's a 7.5 amp fuse.Remove the left pocket. It's against the right side of it.It should be hot all the time.

Go to the Manuals section and download this...
Honda Goldwing GL1200L Limited Service Manual Supplement

There is a troubleshooting section for the travel computer in there.
