turn signal switch

Post by marnhil » Wed Feb 10, 2010 10:38 pm

Hi, all i had posted a problem i was having with the turn signal switch last month. Well i think i found the problem. What exactly does the coil in the switch do? My turn signals, horn, hazards hi/lo beam work, so im wondering what the blue wire coming in from the harness and also the green wire coming from the switch do. I disconnected these and the switch stopped getting hot but everything still seems to work wierd huh? Just would like to know what these wires are for any help would greatly be appreciated.

Green wires are ground wires

The blue wire...... with this disconnected, do you still have a high beam light?

The coil could be the solenoid that is the turn signal auto-shutoff. That's the only thing I can think of a coil doing in there. It should not be heating up.
