'86 1200 Interstate clutch cable

Postby Sempai » Sat Jun 09, 2012 7:19 pm

A buddy of mine just picked up an '86 interstate with a broken clutch cable. What are his options for getting a replacement?

I thought in 84 they changed to hydraulic.
my 83 has a cable,my 84 has a hydraulic clutch.
If it is hydraulic, the slave cylinder may have a leak any it just lost all the fluid.
For a temp try, fill the master cylinder and bleed the clutch line out.

I wouldn't know. I have not seen the bike in person, only information I have was what my buddy asked me on the phone...
him: "is it difficult to change a clutch cable?"
me: "what makes you think it needs a clutch cable?"
him: "it's broke."

LOL...I just called him and had him text me a pic. It is, in fact, a hydraulic clutch.
