On my '84 GL1200 Interstate I have a question regarding the lower faring trim pieces that also surround the radiator.
On both the left and right lower faring piece there is a piece of black soft rubber trim that fits vertically along each side of the radiator with a matching body trim that fits horizontally across the bottom of the radiator that ties the two pieces of lower trim together.
My question is this......is this piece of soft rubber that fits along both sides of the radiator supposed to tuck back and fit along the outside of the radiator on each side, or is this rubber piece supposed to lay flat and overlap on top of left and right edges of the radiator where it can be visible?
I can't seem to see any photos in any manuals that show this very closely.

As I recall,it lays flat.It is a seal to force all captured air to the radiator.
