Wire's that have been cut?

Postby nieftsr » Sun Jul 01, 2012 7:00 am

I just got this 85 goldwing gl1200 ltd, run's good and is in good shape for 27 year's old, does have some thing's wrong, tail light's,side maker's,turning lamp's,and the light's on both side's of the headlight? don't work when running, but the tail light's do work in park? the one thing I didn't like was next to the battery, there is some wire's cut and taped up? they come from the rear cover (all 3 are yellow with a black strip) the other hafe come from the harn's under the seat, and run along side the lift side of the battery where it look's like there has been something mounted there? I looked throw all book's I could find but I do not know what there for? and if they need to be hooked up?? could someone help please... thank you Mark.........

p.s. here is a pic if this helps

Wondering if these three wires are the stator wires that everyone says should be soldered etc. I'll attach a photo of mine - looks soldered and heat shrink wrapped. There's also a bracket that looks like it originally held the connectors for these wires.

I assume you've checked your fuses, right? I know the tail light uses a different fuse when it's in Park than when it is in On, so you might want to check that if you haven't already.

The radio will pop and crack when you turn it on, play out of one speaker, then the other. I hooked up the headset's and at first they wanted to work, then the stopped working, radio will play throw them but can't hear eachother, I am going to send it to that sirra place in Ohio, I went to site didn't see anything bout fixing them on there but I know alot of you have done that. thank you all for any help I get, have had bike's all my life but this one has some much stuff. wanting to get it all good so can take a nice trip. wife is ready ;)
