Wipe everything down with a good cleaner so that it is clean and free of grease/oil, then ride again, to absolutely confirm that it's coming from the boot, and not leaking somewhere else and just traveling there (look for oily trails on the housing that you just cleaned).

I had the same problem on my 85 aspy ,was not leaking from the rear but when you would ride it the tube for the drive shaft would let the rear end fluid leak out the rubber boot. Have you had any work done, like new tire, splines lubed or any work done on the rear end? also check your rear differential fluid level make sure its not low. Should be full to the bottom of the threads when you take the fill cap off. Hal

It would take quite a bit of oil leaked to notice a level change. Kind of like blood - what looks like a tremendous amount of blood on the floor, is actually caused by not very much. :)

I would pull one end of the boot off and check the inside of it to see if it is oily. If so, you may need to replace the rear crankshaft oil seal.
