I hesitate to say this for the sake of sounding like a goof....

This is my first wing, so I'm pretty unfamiliar with the bike. I've been putting a lot of work into the carbs and getting it to run smooth after po left it sitting 4 yrs, so I'm not real confident in the bike. Anyway, went to start it last night to ride to work, turned the key and hit the start button....nothing, except the headlight off and back on when I released the button. Did this several times with the same result. So I'm thinking, great now I have starter issue. I get home this morning from work, after fretting about it all night and immediately start researching all the symptoms, tests and fixes and start troubleshooting.

Just before I begin digging into the relay, I try again for the heck of it....this time I happen to notice there is no neutral light on, I kick it in gear, click it into neutral and the light comes on....feeling stupid, I press the start button and presto....she fired right up.

I'm really not an idiot
