squeaky noise

Post by 00ld Gold » Thu Jul 12, 2012 3:54 am

I stupidly forgot to fully extend my kickstand and gently dropped bike, after which I have this bird like squeak coming from the left front side of bike during deceleration. Any Ideals what this could be, how I could find and fix it? Is this what a failing waterpump would sound like?

You usually can hear the water pump grumbling without driving the bike,so no,it won't be the water pump.

I'd first look at anything related to something that changes during deceleration.
The front suspension dips down.
Unhook the spedo cable from the wheel and do it again.
There is more of a curve in the cable when decelerating and it stretches out when accelerating.
It may need some grease worms put in there.
