Auto rear tire on 1200 with sidecar
I have a 1985 GW LTD with a Champion sidecar that goes through rear tires faster than gas passed through your britches. I want to replace the rear tire with an automotive tire. Any suggestions on how I should go about this. I know the rear rim is a little larger than 15 inches (15.15). Can I install a 15 inch auto tire without trimming down the rim?

Hi this has been done by many and there are many posts on various forums. It would seem that a 165/15 tyre will fit in the swinging arm, need plenty of soap and quite a bit of pressure to seat the bead, in the UK we can get 145/15 tyres which is the option I think I will try when my present motorcycle tyre wears out.
