84 1200I valve cover removal

Postby garlo » Wed Aug 22, 2012 7:17 pm

Good evening out there in ''gold'' land. I am in need of replacing my valve cover gaskets [slight seepage] and the first time I tried it seemed that in order to do this, I need to drop the exhaust?? Can the covers be removed w/o the exhaust removal?? And if so, will I lose a lot or a little of oil?? And once I get them off, will I need to torque the bolts to a specific f/lb and sequence or just snug them??

Any help would be appreciated. And........ my shoes will thank you all. I have a left shoe that is now nicely ''waterproof''
