Post by CharlaineC » Thu Aug 23, 2012 12:04 am

Ok so I finally changed the dogbone fuse for a 30a blade. but i noticed something the wires into the fuse holder are bubbled and corroded. is their something I can do to fix this? it would be the three wirs on the left side of the main dogbone fuse holder.

Please post a picture if possible.
The corrosion will affect the current flow.Bubbling is Ok..It's a result from corroded wires getting hot.
On my 1200,I also had a corrosion problem.I cut back a inch or so of both red wires, scraped them clean, coated with solder paste and soldered them direct to the fuse holder wire. From there I attached the other end of the fuse holder directly to the battery lug.
Between that and removing and soldering every wire associated with the charging system,I no longer have a "iffy" electrical system.
