Ridden and maintained properly, a clutch will last the normal life of the bike. Adding a trailer, sidecar or whatever MAY adversely affect it's service life, again depending on riding style.

I have over 109,000 miles and according to the maintenance records provided by the previous owner the clutch has never been touched on my bike. She still purs like a kitten and runs great all around.
