ebay supplier to watch out for

Postby sgrider » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:42 pm

Needed to replace timing belts for 86 Asp. and got on ebay to purchase them from a so called company (Saber Cycle  in Raytown MO.) The belts showed up real fast. A week later it was time to do the job with some advise from Wingadmin and this web site. It was time to slide the new belts on, after 1 1/2 hours of trying this and thinking I did something wrong I compared the numbers on the belts thinking I have the wrong ones. The orginal Honda belt number is 14400-MG9-0000 and the replacement belt I got from ebay, China made, Barracuda brand, #07-802 A330L075 that replaces #14400-MG9-004. Now I don't no about you, but I don't think it matches. The Saber Cycle  company insist that the numbers on belts do not matter and its the correct belt for the 1200. So if true they are telling me the China made replacement part specs are incorrect. I did go to NAPA and found belts from a UK company, Gates Corp. #250070 and I'll be darn, they slid right on bike and it runs fine. I hate to think if I was able to force those China made belts sold by Saber Cycle  on ebay what would have happened to my 86 Goldwing motor. Saber Cycle  has no intention on letting me return them and I got to say they were very rude. After about 3 emails back and forth there last comment was I was impatient and did not want to wait for the belts delivered and ran out to buy new ones. Ha! I had them for a week before I did the job. Now this is just my advise and you do what you want, but I would not deal with this company that "specializes in Goldwing parts".

They're pretty well-known for horrible customer service and ill-fitting Chinese-made knockoff parts. Add your experience to the Vendor database so others may know in future.

As soon as I see what ebay is going to do I will post all the emails sent back and forth from myself and Saber cycle  which is kind'a funny on the venders supply area.
