Go to the top and type in"soldering" in the search box.
There are posts specific to what you need.

The low key way is:
1)cut it out
2) Do the three part stator test while its out of the electrical system.

If it passes all three parts :
3) Carefully hard solder and double shrink the three yellow wires
4) Ride on

Or......
A possibly better approach is to eliminate most of the trouble spots in the entire electrical system :
try this fairly cheap harness:

http://www.electricalconnection.com/wir ... charge.htm

about 2 hours of cutting, and soldering, and shrink wrapping, and zip tying, and you will have a much better running machine ...
and the harness kit also eliminates the faulty yellow wires plug ... Hooray !!

Best $50 I ever spent on my 1200 !!

Hello Franky, you don't absolutely buy the wiring kit.
when you hard wire the three yellow wires you should be fine with that, I am actually going to install the wiring kit but only because I want too, not because I have to..

The very low key way is to simply cut out that plug entirely and solder yellow to yellow red white stripe to red white stripe green to green and the black to the black and be done with the stupid plug.
Plug at the front of the battery and plug at the solenoind housing are trouble spots also. ;)

my friend has solder the 3 yellow wires and rubber on top.

next spring: inline fuse instead.....of the other.....and clean with special stuff and put electric grease........on other plugs.
