cooling system

I am new to gold wing and I have a 1987 1200, does the radiator have a cooling fan and when should it come on ? thanks

Yes, the fan comes on and off just like on a car.....is your fan not working? missing?Tell us some more....

Actually I just saw the fan on this site. Yes it is there, but has never come before today. Haven't riddden it much yet. had it triked. I have only been just over 100 miles off and on around town short trips. But today it came on Thanks for the info

Yes, there is a thermostat that measures coolant temperatures that switches it on and off. If you start the bike and just let it sit long enough, even in cold weather, the fan will begin to cycle on and off eventually.
