Spare parts needed ?

Post by Donm814 » Wed Dec 19, 2012 12:19 pm

I am a proud owner of a 1984 trike. I want to take it across country in the spring. Its has 55,000 miles on it and the altenator kit on the front of the engine. Right now its running like a dream. My question is what spare parts would you take with you in case of a break down ? If I would happen to have a break down there is a good chance that the nearby Honda dealers would not have parts instock to make the repairs.
Thanks in advance,
Don M

Assuming the timing belts have been replaced and the battery and tires are in good, about the only thing I can think of is a fuel pump and filter.Keep some wire, tape and a few hand tools on board too.

I would add extra fuzes and wire connector kit with crimpers and test light. It is a small kit that can really come in handy.

A tubeless tire repair/plug kit. Also a small scissor jack and whatever tools needed to remove any one of the wheels if needed. That's it for me with a GL. Now if it was my old Guzzi I pack a 20lb tool kit in the trunk of the sidecar.
