Radio comes on but won't play

Postby ortiger » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:53 pm

I have a 85 LTD Trike and the radio works find until I installed a factory cb and than the radio won't play. I unhooked the cb and all of its components and hook the radio back like it was but it still won't play. I have power to the radio the channels and the radio come on but it won't play and the speakers are hook up right. I use the orginal amp that was on the bike. I was just wondering what it could be.
Thanks

i know this may sound silly, but I just bought an 86 1200GL. The guy I bought it from said the only problem was that the radio had power but wouldn't play. On the ride home after buying it, I noticed a button that selected SP for Speakers or HS for Headset. I pressed the button and the radio starting blaring throught the speakers. Hope its that simple for you!

Quite a coincidence, I just bought an 86 GL1200. The radio lights up, I can change stations and watch the volume numbers change if I adjust volume. It does everything but make sound.
I tried loading a CD, but it just ejects it.
I was excited to read the post about the SP button, and I ran oput to the GL to try it.
No such luck, no such button. It is an aftermake radio.

I found what was the trouble with the radio. I did not have the travel computer plug in all the way. I had it plug in but it wasn't in all the way. When I unplug it and plug it in tight it started to play again.
Thanks for all the help
