Re: front master cylinder eyeglass leaking
It seems to be a fairly common failure for 1200 master cylinders. I've heard of people knocking it out, then replacing it with a piece of plastic bonded in with JB-Weld. A more creative solution is one that I saw where the owner replaced the sight glass with a coin.

Re: front master cylinder eyeglass leaking
If the glass is not cracked, you can very carefully seal the edges with clear epoxy or black RTV. There was a guy on another board (V4) that was selling little glass replacements, and that's how they were installed. Plastic may be "attacked" by the brake fluid if it's not the right kind.
A jewler or watch repairman may have little glass lenses that will be the right size if you take the master in with you (make sure it's clean and dry..).

A silver dime, or just an ordinary dime.. let's do it with a little class.

Soak the dime in some vinegar for a few hours to get it nice and shiny before you stick it in there.
You know, chrome.

Re: front master cylinder eyeglass leaking
whole glass blew out of my friends 84 interstate. He just sealed the whole hole up with JB weld and checks his fluid by taking the cap off.
