Rear Shocks GL1200

Postby Possum51 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 9:35 am

I am replacing my rear tire, while there I'd also like to replace the rear shocks, they are "shot" leaking and will not hold air. I'd like to go with a progressive type spring shock and not go back with the air shock. I never ride anyone on the back or tow anything. I've looked on ebay and around the net, there are several types but most are right at $300 or over. Anyone know of a set of progressive spring type shock at a affordable price, please chime in. Thanks

P.S. I've also tried looking for a lowering kit for the GL1200 due to my 30" inseam, a GL1200 is a lot of bike to balance on your tip-toes

I've been told they don't make a lowering kit for the GL1200 because of the right shock that mounts right to the final drive unit. I did find a good set of progressive coil-over shocks at a pretty good price, so I think thats the way I'll go.

I hear ya, but my GL1200 interstate doesn't have a compressor, just a valve to fill or release air from the shocks under the right side cover. And sense I never ride anyone or tow anything I believe the coil over shocks will work best for my riding.
