85 gl1200 Air Shock Repair or New Ones

Postby Poohman » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:54 pm

Just wanted to see if anyone knows if I have bad shocks or knows where I can get a repair or rebuild kit for my shocks. They bottom out hard when I go over a bump and when I push the Air button on the right side to air up the shocks it goes up to 2 bars then goes back down to 1 bar. New one's are so expensive and really can't afford new ones. I would like to rebuild them if possible and would need instructions and a place where I can buy the parts to rebuild them.

You might want to look at these.

Don't forget the adapter kit to use them.

I dont know about the 1200's but I cant see them being very much different from the 1100's. I rebuilt my 1100 rear shocks using OEM seals and Progressive springs, messy job but easy enough to do.cost me about $130 total 8-)
