where to find exhaust?

Postby 86pearlblue » Wed Mar 13, 2013 1:20 pm

OK guys,
I'm in the middle of replacing my stator, and in getting the old exhaust off, I discovered that the headers were fairly rotted and was patched together by PO. I think I can salvage the muffler and tailpipes, but the headers are shot and I can't seem to find any replacements on-line other than e-bay salvage parts that don't seem to be any better than what I have. I see MAC has some, but wasn't sure if they would work as the OEM's are two piece and the new ones are one piece. Any suggestions on where to locate?

Thanks!
Evan

Evan - I have no knowledge of any supplier, however, I just can't help myself here: Usually you can find the exhaust on either side of the bike, except with some sport bikes, and easily located toward the rear of the bike.  SORRY!

So you are saying any exhaust from most bikes will fit except from some sports bikes. You just have to get t
Both sides and the rear. Good to know.

Funny Motorhead! lmao. Perhaps I should have been a little more specific? Where to find replacement exhaust for sale?

@ possum51, thanks for the link. Most of the sites I checked had everything BUT the headers. Good resource. Gonna add it to my folder of parts links. Thanks!

OK, I thought I had it on the way, but I got an email yesterday that basically told me I was out of luck. The part's been discontinued and the order was cancelled. Any other suggestions?

Go to http://www.davidsilverspares.com/GL1200 ... art_30789/, it is the cheapest system I could find and its stainless. Good luck.
