Trike Conversion Ket

Postby vBreezo » Thu Mar 14, 2013 5:18 pm

I love my 1985 GL1200 but I must convert it to a trike to continue riding due to a leg injury and arthritis in the knees. I saw a trike conversion kit on-line for under $4,000 but I am unable to locate it again. Does anyone know of a trike conversion kit - that replaces the rear wheel with the dual rear wheels (not the 'training wheel' type which make the bike a 4-wheeler)? I have looked at several sites but they either do not have anything for an 85 GL1200, or they are add-on wheels or they are only for Harley's.

Since I have already made some modifications to my 1200, to suit my personal riding preferences, I do not want to sell it and start over again with another bike.

As far as I know there is nothing out there at that price for a 1200.
I am aware of a very cheap kit for later model Wings but, after investigation, I would not recommend it to anyone! It had a low ball price but, then if you wanted wheels and tires, they were extra!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know of only one for the GL1200 and it comes from Triwing Industries.

I did manage to locate several trike conversion kits. Most of them were add-on wheels, not replacements for the rear tire. The only one I could find that actually replaced the rear wheel with a differential and axle was close to $7,000 - and that did not include the tires and wheels.
So - I have sold the GL1200. I know the new owner will be happy with it; I took good care of it. It was in better shape when I sold it than when I purchased it.
