Don't dismiss the possibly of hydrolock.
IT happens If the fuel is not shut off and one float sticks. It will fill a cylinder with gas.
To find out quick(do this outside) kill the ignition, pull both left plugs or all 4 plugs and crank the engine.
Most of the time it's the left cylinders because the bike is left on the side stand with the fuel lever on.

If it's not the problem, use a test light and probe the lug on the starter motor, hit the start button and see If there is volts getting to the starter .

First you need a multi meter so you can check battery volts, It sounds like the battery was just charged enough to ride it ahwile. If you have low voltage charge while its running just a matter of time till the juice runs out.
Get a multi meter and check the battery for 12 volts, anything less hook up the battery to a 12 volt 2 amp or less charger and when it is charged try and start it.
If it starts then while it is running hook the multi meter to the battery and you should get mor then 12 volts at idle and 13+ when you rev it up.
If you do have all the right numbers then go to the solenoid.

If it has enough volts on the starter and will not crank, you have 2 possibilities....The starter is dead or the engine is locked.
