85 1200L Temp Reading

Post by JimHavok » Wed Apr 03, 2013 10:20 am

I have a customer that owns a 1985 GL1200L Trike. The LCD temp. gauge runs up to three bars from the top after engine is warmed up. I replaced the fan switch, temp. sensor, thermostat, radiator cap and boiled the radiator out. The fan is kicking on and off and the radiator is not boiling over. Can anybody tell me where the gauge should read normally. I think the gauge is lying.

My 85 aspencade usually runs at 5 bars and goes up to 6 before cycling back to 5. If that helps?

If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

My '86 usually runs at 3 bars, sometimes 4 if it is real hot out. I get worried when it starts creeping up to 6 or 7 bars.
