I have an American spec 85 12, as its now 27 years on its a tad tired.
Someone has added two switches to it. One of which turns off the headlight which is nice to have. As it is American spec every other light illuminates which can be a strain starting it when cold. I am in the process of adding a higher cca battery and i know the alternator is good but was thinking, as I have a spare switch is it easy to "dead switch" the remainder of the accessory/marker/saddlebag etc lights so I can choose to switch all on when the engine is running?
I'm assuming a wire must run near the ignition which would be accessible to run to a switch? Has anyone done this? Is it straight forward or is it an advanced degree in electrical engineering I may need?
