Adding Coolant to an 1986 SE-I

Postby DWKENT » Sun Apr 21, 2013 2:41 pm

I don't have an Owner's Manual so it me a while to even locate the radiator cap. Probem is, it looks like I would need to remove the fairing even to get to it. It on the right side right under the upper frame area. Did Honda intend this to be a major job? I had a leak develop when I was sitting in my drive way checking out the computer and other items while it was idling. I am not sure if the fan kicked on or not. I don't think this is an easy fix. I was wanting to top off the coolant and do some checking. Anyone care to weigh in on this?

As always with the Wing.....remove the seat first..then the shelter...It's so much easier to get to the stuff from this point.
And no,it's not easy....Cooling problems don't happen often so the engineers tucked those pieces out of view.

Thanks, I looked at it again, and it becomes clear the fake tank needs to be removed, as you point out.
