GL1200L Travel Computer

Postby kbart676 » Sun May 05, 2013 1:52 pm

Hello
I have a GL1200A Aspencade. I purchased a GL1200L Travel Computer and was hoping to use on my Aspencade. Does anyone
have any information on how I can install this unit and has anyone ever done this to there bike ? I guess I should have asked
this question before purchasing the unit. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I have an 86 aspencade sei with travel computer and it is connected to everything including the stereo, and insturment cluster. would think you would have to have wiring harness and all sensors out of donor bike to make work, dont know if all gl 1200 used same harness or not, good luck. spud in colorado :?

I have a gl 1200 l and sorry to say this but the travel computer is off no use to you and can never work on your aspencade. Its functions are totally built and wired to connect to the cfi fuel injection ststen in order to work. It gets all its readings from the ecm for the fuel injicetion. Put the computer on ebay and a fellow winger needing a travel computer will be happy to bid on it for his 85 ltd or 86 sei.

Thanks for the replies. I have sadly found out the hard way that you are 100% correct. Everything is totally different. So off to ebay it goes
Expensive lesson learned.
