From what I could find...
Pressure tested at the right hand fuel delivery pipe, ignition switch on, engine off, should be 34-38psi.
Engine on and at idle, should be 28-34psi.

This is tested after the fuel pressure regulator.

Thank you very much,

Do you know how much PSI is coming out of the Fuel pump before the fuel pressure regulator and do you know the GPM.

Couldn't find the PSI just out of the pump, but the flow capacity/minute is specified at 630cc or 21.3oz per minute.
Quickest way is to measure the flow in 5 seconds, then multiply by 12.

This is from the Clymer manual.

Maybe someone on the forum has a copy of the Gl1200 limited Honda shop/service manual supplement. I only have the main manual.
It might have the psi at the pump.

Can the fuel pump be replaced with a high pressure fuel pump. I was told that a AutoZone E8000 high pressure pump will work. It is about 65 to 70 PSI. How high pressure pump will the regulator handle?

Thanks Guys

I have the Honda Prelude $60 pump on my Gl1200Interstate, works great, but I don't know if it works with the injected LTD.
Don't think it would have enough pressure for the injected system????

Not familiar with the LTD but can tell you what is written above sounds correct 34-38 is what the pump should put out. Fuel pressure regulators usually work off engine vacuum and will reduce pressure at high vacuum conditions (idle).

I would not put a 70psi pump on a system designed for 34-38 max.
This is what I do

Replacement fuel pump for the 1985LTD is SP1186 and can be bought from Rock Auto for about $66. I discovered this by doing a search which led me to: http://www.saber-cycle.com/store/FAQ25.html. Using the information found there I took the part number for the Prelude, removed the hyphens then did a search for the part number on the Rock Auto website.
