I am new to this bike and am having a hard time figuring out how I get to the radiator cap to check the coolent level, what parts have to come off to get to it, thanks in advance, I have manuals but they are not specific.

Actually, its easiest to remove the seat and the top shelter.
The cap is burried in the front right corner.

Finally got it, this shows me I have a lot to learn, now I m worried about the fan coming on at the proper time, the heat guage runs about 3/4 hot after a 10 mile run, but I live in Yuma az. real hot here. we ll see.

I think my fan would kick on just under the red line.I only noticed the fan when I idled the last block home. The fan ran with the bike idling in the drive for 5 minutes then shut off..It would cycled on/off every 5 minutes or so.
Don't forget..this is just like a car engine..it's suppose to get hot...Normal operating temp is 185* and the fan kicks on around 195*.

Thanks for the reassurance, as this is my first Goldwing, I had no idea if it was right or not, it is so hot in Yuma in the summer 110-120 average for 4 or 5 months, I didn t know what to expect. thanks again.

I have heard the stators on these bikes are weak, mine has been changed, I have no idea how to change to an alternator, I look forward to hearing a answer to your question.
