temp check ok but starter and alt very hot

Postby Honker91 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:31 pm

My aspencade was overheating. So I replaced the thermostat, had the radiator cleaned and tested, ok. Hoses ok. Checked overflow and hose, ok. It now does not overheat from coolant. But the problem is the starter, alt housing gets so hot it will burn got burns on fingers very hot!! It will not start because starter is so hot. New oil, no coolant in oil or oil in coolant. Wiring off stator is not hot nor the battery. Whats causeing the heat and from what. Any help would be appreciated!

Found the problem the wires had melted together in the loom. Replaced all wires and cut out plugs and soldered back together. Also did quite of few of the one under faux tank. Problem solved. Run great and starts back up better than before.
