'84 Goldwing choke cable

Can anyone tell me what's involved in changing the choke cable. Mine broke the other day.

The service manual doesn't explain it explicitly. The engine end is easy to do - loosen the screw clamping the cable to the engine, and remove the cable end from the choke actuator.

The handlebar end looks similar to the throttle cables - loosen the fitting holding the cable into the bottom of the clutch assembly...and from there, I don't see any real instructions. It may be as simple as just disassembling the top/bottom halves of that assembly and pulling the old cable out. Or it might involve pulling the clutch/master cylinder apart. I just can't tell. Anyone else?

The top end is easy. the engine end is what I'm wondering about since I can't tell exactly where it gos to.Just wondered if someone had done it before and could tell me how much disassembling has to be done.

I would suggest disconnecting the cable at the handlebar, tape the engine end of the new cable to the handlebar end of the old cable then pull the old cable from the engine end so that the new cable is pulled into place. That should guarantee with a bit of care that the new cable goes exactly the same route as the old cable and you won't have to half dismantle the bike!!
