86SEI tail light relay

Postby Lylet12 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 1:08 pm

Is it possible to bypass the tail light relay on the 86SEI and have the tail lights work? Assuming all wiring lights ect. are good.

I suspect that you can...The "magic box" is used to indicate if your lights should fail..
When there is a loss of current draw by a lamp, power is diverted through to the indicator lamp.
As I see the schematic... hook the 2 brown ones together, and the green/yellow ones.Discard the rest.
Obviously,if you loose a lamp, the indicator will no longer warn you..

Thank you, your awesome! I guess i could replace the "magic box" if I could find one, just didn't think my chances of finding a new one would be too good. Finding some of the new electronics on these old wings can be difficult. Maybe you have a source?
Thanks Lyle

I either bypass myself or if its critical, ill look on the Internet.
Just punch in the original part number.I usually assume a used one will be in the same condition as mine tho.
Personally,I'd dog it off and use LED lamps. There not as prone to burn out as a hot filament.
