no power to left side coil

struggling with my 1984 gl1200 not getting any power to coil on left side bike only running on 1 and 3, 2 and 4 not getting spark from coil is there any help with where the power for the coil comes from and can it get the 12 volts from anywhere else in search of all the help I can get thanks in advance for the help :? :?

To my remembering,the black with the white tracer is simply switched 12 volts from the kill switch...Both coils are fed from the harness by a wire.If one coil has no 12 volts,simply jump it to the coil that does...

thanks I'll look into that with in the next few days one more quick question I replaced the starter solenoid with aftermarket hooked wires up wrong at first rewired could I have messed something up in the wiring then? However all electrical seems to be working lights horn signals just not firing on left coil again thanks

Sure you could have messed it up.
Doubt it tho
With this new information,its more likely there is a bad connection in the 4 wire plug just to the left of the battery.Its the pulse coil plug.
Not saying that there isn't a wiring problem at the coil,its just you would be the first.
A loose connection maybe
Also,have you checked/soldered the 3 yellow wires too.???

ok thanks I did rework solenoid still have power to lights switch bike will turn over still have to reconnect stator wires and the wires to pg hope to get done and retest by weeks end thanks for your help
