Postby 50-desoto » Tue Oct 01, 2013 7:27 pm

I installed a Poor Boy on convertion last year on my GL1200A with little problem, but now my fan in contaction the front fender when I hit a bump or hole. My air ride is two bars over recomendIed on front forks. I thought that I got the thinnest fan avalable 1 1/2 thick,Is there a fan name and part number I should be using?

The fan or the radiator is hitting the front fender? I know the radiator is pushed out a little ways but should not interfere with the front fender. Even if the fork springs are getting weak or maybe a loss of fork oil? Let us know what you find.
Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.

I'm going to check the fork oil this weekend.

I drained the oil from both forks tonight, Left side had 150cc in it, right side was empty. Don't know the last time it was checked. Might need seals replaced but I'm going to fill to specs and monitor for leaks. Haynes manual specs say 323cc after draining. My question is that 323cc for one (1) fork or total for both?

Pour the specified amount of ATF into the fork
tube.
CAPACITY: 345 cc (11.67 US OZ, 12.11 Imp oz)
This is what I show per tube. Overhaul
So the 323cc is refill per tube 646cc total. I just checked what was left in the fork oil bottle from my last overhaul, and that would be correct.

Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.
