Plug gap with EC Harness installation

Postby SilverDave » Tue Nov 19, 2013 5:16 pm

I am having a ( small ) discussion with a mechanic ...
I am ( almost ) sure that my original Electrical Connection 1200 stator harness instructions said to gap the plugs higher , say around .040 to .050 thou ... He feels it should be .030 , as the 1200 manual says ...

But I cannot find my original paper instructions , and neither can the nice folk at EC.

Does anyone have the original paper installation instructions from EC to confirm or deny this ?

Thanks for looking

Another GL1200 owner ( Tricky ) - more organized than I am ... found the original instructions ... ( last page enclosed )

and my memory was correct :
you can , if you want to , and if using a harness from EC, gap your 1200 spark plugs to a hotter size :

To save GL 1200 owners a bit of time.. I found that with regular gas, at sea level, in Vancouver weather,
I could gap NKG's to about .045 to .050 without the engine sputtering ...
