Is there adjustability on a GL1200I seat

Postby Paulwing » Thu Feb 06, 2014 11:19 am

Hello Wingers,

I find while driving my 1985 GL1200 Interstate, that I'm cramped or sitting to close to the tank, I'm 5'8" which is not tall it seems to be in this position.

Can we adjust the seat back and forth on this model? If so please enlighten me.

Thanks, Paulwing

Yes.Where the lefthand seat mounting bolt is there is a spring loaded lever that you pull out or push in I kind of forget as it's been a while.Once you get it to release the seat will slide and there are 3 positions.
If I'da known it would last this long,I'da taken better care of it.

Don't know about the I, but my 1200-A's have a little adjustment. The lever is on the left side above the left saddle bag just under the seat. You pull it out and the seat can be moved back or forward depending on it's current location. You'll know it when you see it.
Enjoy the ride. They are all good, just some better than others.

I think my 84 had a handle right behind the gas cap.lift it up and the seat slides back about a inch and a half
