Not a mechanical question but still a question about the wing. The side mirrors tend to wiggle alot and makes it hard to see what is behind you (cop, woman in SUV, or something else you may not want near you) and I need to know whats around me. Is this a Goldwing thing or is there a way to stop this? I have the two bolts as tight as I can get them so not sure if maybe the little rubber buttons might be the problem don't think they do anything or if the whole fairing might be loose. 86 Aspen

This tends to be an issue with any motorcycle. Some are worse than others as far as vibration goes.

I have an '83 Aspencade and I just replaced the left mirror with a new one and its a lot more stable than the old one. I did notice the new mirror uses springs in the mounting points to keep them tight, as opposed to the OEM mirrors which just have a screw which can loosen up over time. I will be replacing the right one soon just because the new ones are so much better.

I just replaced both mirrors on my 82 Aspencade, not because they were vibrating, but because the chrome had become pitted, and the internal reflective surface had begun to delaminate. A pleasant side effect with the new mirrors is that they are a lot tighter than the original 30-year-old mirrors, so the vibration has been cut down significantly.

:D I had the same problem for awhile the PM had new Emgo mirrows on, and it looked like a vibrater was connected to it couldn't see nothing. I replaced them with used factory mirrows Solid as a rock .
