When 1 wing isn't enough

Post by foots » Sat Apr 12, 2014 8:29 pm

I joined this site last summer when I acquired a '78 wing project and had started gathering parts/info needed to do a restoration on it. Well, a couple of weeks or so ago a friend of mine decided that after 27 years of ownership he wanted to to get rid of his '87 Aspencade since he won't be riding anymore. He called me up and asked if I'd be interested so naturally I said sure, how much? He told me if I'd come get it out from his garage I could have it for free since it was taking up space in his garage and he needed the space for remodeling his house. No way I could pass up an offer like that. It does need some brake work, centerstand repair and some cosmetic work but it does run good, don't smoke, and the radio, cruise control, air compressor all work. The engine runs good and doesn't smoke though it has over 164,000 mi. on it. He did keep it well maintained. I've given it to my dad so we can ride together after I've gone over everything. Enough jabbering from me, here are some crummy cell phone pics until I can get a better camera.

I just picked up a second 1985 GL1200 LTD - for $800. Now I just have to go through and do the timing belts, oil, etc before I try and start it.
